Online recipe webpages can be incredibly hard to read, mainly due to a lot of extra and unnecessary details. It is easy to find them with countless distractions like a very descriptive story, tons of advertisements and links to other recipes, usually all before actually seeing the recipe! It can become more of a chore to actually find recipes rather than reading them for cooking use. How should we actually read recipes in the digital age today? One would think that better design should consider placing the recipe first since that is what you are probably trying to find.

To limit those distractions, this web application was created as an answer to that. FindARecipe attempts to use simple design for a streamlined web experience, limiting information to only the essentials. The design for displaying recipes is based upon the concepts of standardized recipe cards to parse and display each recipe in a consistent manner and without distractions. There have been other websites looking to answer the same question, but we hope this is a more effective solution.

Eventually, there will be more features to this site (hopefully), including saving recipes and adding ingredients to shopping lists.
